This week Francesca’s Grandparents came to school to talk to us about what it was like when they were young.  Lydia and Penn told us all about their homes, toys and schools.  We loved looking at the interesting things that they bought in to share too.  They showed us Lydia’s doll – Lucy, Lydia’s roller skates and Penn’s tennis racket.  They also showed us an old wooden wash board – we thought that washing is probably easier now!

Room 3 would like to say a big thank you to Lydia and Penn – we really enjoyed listening to you.

Hello Room 3,
I hope that you have had a fun start to the beginning of your week? I have missed seeing you all, but I’m just starting to feel back to normal today. I had to have 3 of my grown up teeth removed – and the dentist told me that “they were just so stubborn – they didn’t want to come out!!”. So, I’ll see you all tomorrow.
Love

On Thursday, Jo, (Ruby’s Grandma) came to visit us at school. We were able to ask her all the questions that we wanted to know about what it was like when she was a little girl.  Jo also bought in some pictures of things from when she was young.  Here is a picture of Jo when she was at school in 1957.  What did you learn about the 1950’s today room 3?

Hi Room 3,

I hope that you have a great long weekend.  Don’t forget to have a look at both our blogs over the weekend – and perhaps you could add a comment to someone else’s blog?

We all enjoyed Run, Jump, Throw this week.  What was your favourite event?

Hello Room 3,

I hope that you all had a good holiday and that you are ready to start another exciting term?

I had a lovely holiday, playing with Meg, driving that exciting car and finally spending a week at Ulearn – New Zealand’s ICT conference.  I hope that you like this picture of Meg – she is growing so fast!

Conferences

What a fantastic two days of conferences we had!

I was so proud to show off your amazing progress Room 3 and I hope that you were too?

Don’t forget, once you have shared your portfolio with your family, you need to return it to school.
